IS MY BABY READY FOR UNDERWATER PHOTOS
Babies and toddlers need to have attended consistent aquatic classes which Include submersion
methods for a period of at least 10 weeks. Your infant will need to be relaxed underwater for 2 to 4
seconds as this will ensure the best picture possible. HOW IS THE BABY SENT FOR THE PHOTO
An experienced teacher will place your baby underwater after a fun warm up play. The teacher will cue the baby with the familiar term used during regular classes, such as ready, go. The method of sending and holding the baby for the photo will depend on their age and disposition on the day.
PHOTOGRAPHING PROCESS
Babies and toddlers are arranged into groups of 5 and are rotated for resting in between shots. Six to eight shots are taken of each baby but this depends on the cooperation of the baby or child on the day. Each session lasts for 45 minutes
Babies 4 to 12 months (This is the best time to do underwater photos as your baby will be unaware of the photographer, equipment and photo process
Toddlers 12 to 18 months, 18 months to 3 years (This age group needs to really love being underwater. Little ones at this age can become fearful in unfamiliar situations because they have greater awareness of what’s going on. It is preferable that they have some self submersion confidence, such as popping off the side and going underwater to mum or dad if the usual method of sending does not suit them.
Children 3 to 6 years (Some children love having there photo taken and others rush for cover when you take the camera out. If your child poses in front of the camera and loves being underwater then some truly unique images will be yours.
Family photos are available but need to be scheduled separately.
HOW MANY PHOTO’S WILL I RECEIVE
This will depend on the baby or child and their underwater abilities. There is usually a minimum of 3 images to choose from and a maximum of 5 or 6. The aim is to provide you with that one great shot you can so proudly display on your wall.
